Organisational  Context

Blackstone Minerals Limited is a leading battery and precious metals exploration and development company focused on the flagship Ta Khoa Nickel PGE (Cu Co) sulfide project in Northern Vietnam where the company is drilling out the large-scale Ban Phuc Nickel-PGE deposit. The Ta Khoa Nickel-PGE Project has existing modern mine infrastructure built to International Standards including a 450ktpa processing plant and permitted mine facilities.

 

Headquartered in Perth, Western Australia, Blackstone also owns a large land holding at the Gold Bridge project within the BC porphyry belt in British Columbia, Canada with large scale drill targets prospective for high grade gold-cobalt copper mineralisation.

Primary Function

The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for providing engineering expertise in the design, Equipment selection, fabrication, installation and assembly and day-to-day management of each project.

Accountabilities

  • Review and plan projects with the GM of Project Development to ensure technical aspects of mechanical design, fabrication and installations are complied with project standards and best practice.

  • Mechanical engineering design calculations, equipment sizing and

  • Technical Equipment selection in line with the Engineering Design Criteria.

  • Facilitate design review meetings with project stakeholders.

  • Focal point for the management of operating site change management.

  • Review of Process Flow Diagrams and Piping & Instrumentation diagrams.

  • Preparation and up-keep of project design specifications and datasheets documentation.

  • Provides a focal point for all technical based queries from the client or associated sub suppliers.

  • Liaise with both in-house and external designers and detailers as required for the successful completion of each project.

  • Assist with purchasing of materials for projects by assessing quantities and completing purchase orders.

  • Ensuring that the quality requirements of the client are adhered to and that company procedures are followed.

  • Prepare Inspection and Test Plans and associated Project Specific Procedures.

  • Assist in Project document and drawings control.

  • Development of project deliverables.

  • Assist in project reporting.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Attributes

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering.

  • High level of computer literacy (operating systems, Office products, engineering tools).

  • Previous experience in design modelling and drafting – AutoCAD, Solidwork, Autopipe, Fluidflow.

  • Ability to provide leadership and mentoring to other project engineers.

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a similar position.

  • Mining related industry experience working on large construction projects.

  • Diverse project experience from Design to Commissioning’.

  • Experience with materials handling and ability to accurately calculate all crushing, screening and conveying components based on design criteria.
